Need Advice? Look Here!

Welcome to the advice column! This week we will be answering questions given by some of our students here at New Way.

Question: If you overhear two people talking badly about another student, should you tell the student they are talking about? Or what should you do?

Answer: At one point or another in your life you will encounter this situation. If two students are talking bad about another student, you should not tell the student that they are talking negatively about. If you tell the student about who is talking bad about them, then they might get in an argument or worse. What you should do in this situation is tell a teacher or responsible adult. After doing this just move on and don’t tell other students that a specific person is talking bad about others and go about your day.

Question: I don’t really have any friends. Do you think that people need friends or can we can succeed in life without them?

Answer: I think that we can succeed in life without friends. Though friends can make our lives brighter and more fun, we don’t necessarily need them. If you enjoy being around people, I would encourage you to reach out and make friends because you may find someone that will help you succeed. If you don’t enjoy being around others, then make sure you work hard, and you will be able to achieve great things. If you do want to make more friends, you might want to take a look at the previous advice column about making more friends.
