It’s a new school year here at New Way Academy, and that means brand-new editions of the New Way News! To introduce the newspaper staff for the 2018-2019 school year, I went around and asked them some questions. The staff consists of: Claire Stabilito, Milan Mahant, Noah Gordon, Georginna Smith, Brayden Farrell, Lucas Schaefer, Alex La Loggia, and Ms Dumanski.
Why did you join newspaper club?
Claire: I wanted to expose myself to new types of writing
Milan: Cause I thought it would be a good experience to get out of my comfort zone. It is also sounded cool because we get to keep up with school and do interviews with our teachers and peers.
Noah: Because it had been something I was interested in doing
Georginna: Just to try something different and I thought it would be fun to do.
Lucas: I joined to share my interests.
Alex: I love writing and I wanted to gain more experience writing articles for a newspaper,
Ms. Dumanski: Because I’ve worked on a school newspaper since I was in elementary school.
What main topics will you be covering?
Claire: Restaurant and book reviews
Milan: Sports and interviews
Noah: Scavenger hunt and columns
Georgianna: Interviews and photography
Lucas: Elevators and other cool stuff
Alex: I wanted to join newspaper club to do more writing outside of schoolwork. I also thought it would be fun to write about school events and people around the campus.
