Q: What are the traditions of Hanukkah?

A: Each night a candle is lit and placed on the menorah. After the candle is lit, you open a present.

Q: What is a menorah?

A: It is an eight-branched candelabra. You light one candle each night of Hanukkah.

Q: What are the colors of Hanukkah?

A: Blue and white.

Q: What days do you go to a temple or synagogue?

A: Whenever there is a holiday.

Q: How long does Hanukkah last?

A: Eight nights and seven days.

Q: What kind of foods do you eat for Hanukkah?

A: Latkes (a sort of potato pancake) sufganiyot (almost like a jelly donut.)

A: Foods that are cooked with oil.

Q: What games do you play during Hanukkah?

A: There is a game called dreidel that you play and you use a wooden top.

Q: When does Hanukkah start?

A: This year it starts on December 2nd and ends on December 10th.
