The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian Book Review

Have you ever read the book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian? This is a great book. Many American high- schoolers read this book in ninth grade. Personally, I have read this book, and loved it. It is pretty funny, but there are some parts that are inappropriate.

This book is primarily about a kid who lives on a Native American Reservation. It provides details on how he is treated for being a Native American.  The book is a very easy story to read, and has animations, and changing word fonts. This book has won a National Book Award, and is rated 4.1, from www.Goodreads.com .  Also, it is rated  14+ on www.commonsensemedia.org . This shows you how much this book is liked by the media.

This is a great book because, it teaches you about the actual world. It also tells you how bad racism is, and how American reservations are. However, there is some mature material. I recommend that you are at least 15 years old to read this. The book contains a few activities for after you are done reading.

All in all, this is an amazing book to read. It has a lot of hilarious parts, sad parts and comics. This book contains a lot of detail and teaches you a lot about life on the reservation, racism in America and world issues. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, is a true story about the author, Sherman Alexie.
